Voice & Copy
Oction Labs - Voice & Copy
From the brand book p.04, p.15, p.29.
1. Voice (p.04)
Speak like an engineer. Short sentences, concrete claims, sentence case. No exclamation marks, no hype adjectives, no emoji on brand surfaces. Confidence comes from precision, not volume.
2. Case & punctuation
- Sentence case is the default for headlines and body (per p.04 and the p.15 examples).
- lowercase is used for: the wordmark ("oction labs"), the domain/handle (
octionlabs.com,@octionlabs), and film/marketing type cards (see §4). Never TITLE CASE or ALL CAPS for the brand name. - UPPERCASE is allowed in exactly one place: JetBrains Mono kickers ("CASE STUDY, 04", "GET ACCESS", "ART DIRECTION"). That is the single sanctioned uppercase.
- No em dashes on brand surfaces - use commas, colons, " / ", or " · ". (House rule applied across web, decks, docs.)
- No exclamation marks. No emoji.
3. Escalating declaratives (p.29) - the signature copy device
Claims stack like a cold open, each line bigger than the last, no connectives:
oction labs runs in parallel.
2.4 million decisions a day.
eight agents. one organism.
it also wrote this film.
- Numbers are weapons: concrete, unrounded where possible.
- The last line earns a turn of wit; everything before it stays deadpan.
- Case goes sentence-case → lowercase, never caps, never exclamation.
4. Type cards (film & hero, p.29)
Technor Light, lowercase, white on Ink or ink on White, centred or lower-third left.
One thought per card, maximum eight words. Cards cut hard - no fades, no tracking animations,
no word-by-word reveals. Example: eight agents. one organism.
5. Messaging pillars (mining-first application)
Lead in the operation's language, still credible for other regulated/remote sectors: - Knowledge that stays - decades of judgment don't walk out at retirement or crew rotation. - Answers on your own hardware - plain-language questions, answers from your own records, no cloud. - A network built for remote sites - a private mesh links mine, camp, plant, head office; works fully off-grid. - On your ground - data and knowledge never leave the perimeter; you own the lifecycle.
6. Boilerplate
- Tagline family: "eight agents. one organism." · "distributed agents, one brain." · "one organism, eight agents, one glowing brain."
- Mining one-liner: "Private AI for mining. On your hardware, on your ground."
- Short description: "Oction Labs builds private, on-premise AI. It runs on your own hardware across a private mesh network built for remote sites, so operational knowledge and data stay on the ground you control, even fully off-grid."
- Contact: a single public email, info@octionlabs.com (brand owner:
brand@octionlabs.com).
7. Honesty rules (application)
- Don't claim certifications not yet held - say "aligned" / "in progress" / "roadmap."
- Don't invent named customers or metrics; illustrative scenarios must be labelled illustrative.
