Oction Labs - Brand System (Master Spec)
Source of truth. These files are transcribed from the official brand book, Oction Labs Brand Guidelines v3.3, June 2026 (CONFIDENTIAL, INTERNAL USE). Where this spec and the brand book ever disagree, the brand book wins. These
.mdfiles exist so an AI agent or developer can build brand-correct assets without re-reading the PDF each time.
The ten rules (from the kit summary, p.22) - memorize these
- Reproduce only from the SVG masters. Never redraw the mark.
- The dot: radius 9 / 100, dead centre, coral
#FF4B26, on every surface. - Three mark variants, two lockups. No more.
- Clear space = half the icon height.
- Minimums: icon 16 px, horizontal lockup 96 px.
- Coral under 5% of any layout outside the mark.
- Technor Light 300 / Extralight 200 only; lowercase name. Max weight anywhere = 500.
- 45° grid. Never rotate, stretch, or restyle.
- Photography only behind an ink scrim.
- Not covered here? Ask before improvising.

Brand story (p.03)
"Oction" is a coined word; the identity takes every syllable seriously: - Oct - eight. Structure, geometry, the octagonal logic of the 45° grid. - Motion - forward movement; the arms read as extension, reach, action in progress. - Ocean - depth and vast possibility; the octopus, the most intelligent invertebrate alive. - Action - agency. A lab that ships, not a lab that contemplates.
The mark is the octopus seen from directly above: eight machined arms in strict rotational symmetry, and at the centre the crown of the head, a coral core held inside the ink body. One organism, eight agents, one glowing brain. Everything else is a dark, dense, quiet stage where a single point of colour can mean something.
Brand principles & voice (p.04)
- Precision over decoration. Everything is on a grid; nothing freehand. If it can't be measured, it isn't an Oction choice.
- Dark by default. Ink
#0A0A0Bis home. White is the visitor (documents, dense reading). - One point of colour. Coral is structural only in the mark's core. Elsewhere it's a signal (buttons, rules, alerts), capped at 5% of any layout.
- No heavy type. Nothing above weight 500, anywhere. Confidence is space and geometry, not bold.
- Speak like an engineer. Short sentences, concrete claims, sentence case. No exclamation marks, no hype adjectives, no emoji on brand surfaces.
